If you’re reading this, it’s because you’ve learned (or realized) that having a negative attitude will only attract more negative things to happen in your life.
Yup, that little ‘ole Law Of Attraction is always at work, manifesting into our lives the things that we are focusing on and feeling. That's why it’s so important to direct your focus on positive things, situations, and outcomes that you desire so that you are able to use this universal law to your benefit.
But, I’m sure you already know this, and it’s the reason you decided to read this blog. You’re probably in a place in your life where you know that you shouldn’t allow the negative things that are happening in your life to get you depressed, discouraged, or frustrated.
You’re also probably tired of feeling like you can’t control your feelings.
Maybe you even feel like you’re putting in tons of effort to stay positive, but negative things keep happening and you’re beginning to feel like this whole “think positive and law of attraction” is some bullshit.
Well honey, let me ease your mind right quick… Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE goes through this stage in the journey of learning to manifest. Finding yourself in this place is proof that you have effectively learned to be aware of the current state of your emotions and have the ability to recognize that you need to shift your thinking.
Remember, acknowledgement is the first step to healing, growth, and change.
Another piece of good news is - once you are aware that your thoughts have drifted to a negative place, you can make an immediate change to shift them to a positive place.
How?
‘Glad you asked! That's exactly what I wanted to share with you!
Here are 4 things you can do to keep your thoughts, attitude, and feelings positive while you are experiencing something negative.
The Come & Go Technique
As soon as you recognize the negative thoughts, be quiet. Do not speak on those negative thoughts. (Remember, saying them gives that thought life and thus begins the manifestation of the negative thing that you DON’T want). Also, do not try to have a mental fight in your mind to get rid of the thought. Just allow the negative thought to come and go. The mind thinks over 60,000-80,000 thoughts per day and this negative one is just ONE. So, allow it to come; then allow it to go out of your mind naturally. Once you allow it to go, immediately think of something in your life that you are grateful for. Think of something that makes your smile. Recall a memory that warms your heart.
Train Your Mind
This activity takes a little more time and dedication, but it is worth every minute of effort. Training your mind consists of learning how to make seeing the positive in all situations (good and bad) a natural response.
Practice Daily Gratitude
This is (in my opinion) the most effective and easiest way to shift your focus to positive thinking and a positive attitude. Also, by initiating this practice into your daily regime, you are in fact slowly doing #2 above (training your mind).
Practicing daily gratitude involves setting aside a few minutes each day to write things that you are thankful for. Most people call this journaling and purchase a notebook or notepad to use as a dedicated gratitude journal.
The reason that journaling the things that you are grateful for is so popular, effective, and helpful is because it is the beginning stages of actively and consciously focusing on things that you are grateful for. Our society has trained our minds to focus on lack. We focus on what we don’t have, what we didn’t get, what doesn’t seem to be working, why we don’t have enough, how we’re going to get more, etc. Because our minds have been trained to perceive life in that way, most people are stuck in a cycle of manifesting more ‘lack’ because that is what they focus on, speak on, complain about, and try to solve for.
Writing in a gratitude journal daily will slowly but surely retrain and reprogram your mind to focus on what you DO have, what you DID get, what is working out well, what you have in abundance, and how you can give more. This change in focus will have you attracting more circumstances in which you are grateful for.
Find The Opportunity
This is, by far the most important technique because this is where you become a badass at manifesting.
First, you need to understand how negative/unfortunate circumstances are continuing to manifest in your life, despite the fact that you are focusing hard AF on manifesting the things you want. Here’s why that happens: When you speak or write down your desires, you are beginning the process of manifesting that desire. And the thing that you desire has now been claimed FOR you by the universe. However, you have to keep in mind that you are not yet ready to receive your desire. If you were ready, you would’ve already manifested it. So, considering that you are not yet ready to receive your desire, the universe will move things, people, and/or circumstances into your path that you need to overcome and learn from to prepare you to receive what you’ve asked for.
A lot of times, people will think that the law of attraction isn’t working because they believe that they are doing everything that the law says to do in order to manifest what they want; but they still seem to be going through tough times. This is because the universe is requiring you to grow, to evolve, to get rid of old limiting beliefs, to break through barriers, to release fears, to detach from people who are holding you back, to disconnect from strongholds, or to unlearn what you’ve been taught that no longer serves you… this is why you are still experiencing negative shit in your life - and the moment that you realize that the negative shit is not “the negative shit”, but rather, an opportunity to overcome something that is standing in between you and your dreams - you will be fucking unstoppable!
So, when you are experiencing something unpleasant, remember to allow the negative thoughts to come and go; don’t fight them. It’s ok and it’s normal to have both positive and negative thoughts floating around in your mind. The key is to NOT focus on the negative ones and more importantly, NOT to speak on them because that just gives them life. Begin the process of training your mind. It may take a few months before positive thinking is a natural reaction so try not to get impatient and commit to writing in your gratitude journal every day. Lastly, and most importantly, search for what you can learn from “the negative shit” :) You’ll find that it will no longer feel like a problem, or an inconvenience. It will feel like an opportunity to take a big ass step from the life you have, to the life you desire.
